Diwali Details with Lazzat Photography

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a fabulous start to the holiday season. Despite the miserable weather we've been having here in the greater Seattle area, there has been a lot going on at Happy Shaadi Seattle. Stay tuned for a whole new round of color boards for spring, new real Seattle weddings, and more.

Today I wanted to share with you all a few moments from our family celebration this past Diwali. I'm so pleased that my friend Lazzat of Lazzat Photography was able to join us to capture some very special images for us. We tend to keep our Diwali celebrations very small, inviting close family to join us for puja, gifts, and a big meal. We all love to dress up for the occasion and even break out a few sparklers if the weather permits. Here is a peak at what our past festival season looked like at the home of Happy Shaadi Seattle.

The menu for this year's home cooked (by me!) Diwali feast included chole puri, dahl makhani, paneer makhani, roti, rasmalai, and a wide assortment of burfi (sweets were store bought of course). What are your favorite dishes to prepare for Diwali?

With a great big thank you to Lazzat for her fantastic photography skills. If you're looking for a local wedding or cultural event photographer who is talented, considerate, and very kind I highly recommend you check out Lazzat Photography. She helped us document some of the most special moments of the season.

  1. Great photos and I love the dinner menu. Hope you had a great time 😊.

  2. Dear Rachel! Thank you for sharing and letting me capture this special time in your family! I absolutely loved and humbled by generosity of your family!
