Get the Look: Gothic-chic Engagement Shoot

Remember this real wedding feature from earlier this month? How incredible were those engagement shots? Today, we've pulled together a quick post to help you recreate the look.

First off, let's start with that dress shall we? It's beautiful, feminine, edgy, and makes such an impact for that engagement session. Go for a floor length black dress (obviously) with a trumpet or mermaid style silhouette like this beauty or this one by Monique Lhuillier.

Add a black feather hair facilitator like this Nu-Georgette and Feather Flower Hair Clip for some fun, flirty style. Then, throw on a pair of warm brown boots and you are set.

For his look, dress your groom up in a sharp black suit and black bow tie to complement the formal style of the dress. A dark red bouquet and lacy parasol add an air of gothic style to the shoot.

This particular shoot was staged at Discovery Park on a quintessential rainy Seattle day. It really adds to the ambiance of the shoot. How's that for not letting the weather upstage you?
